  9. by a wild moose. The moose killed two of her
  10. dogs and hurt 13 others. Susan had to drop
  11. out of the race. (Libby Riddles went on to
  12. become the first woman to win the Iditarod.)

  14. Susan finished first in the event in 1986, 
  15. 1987, 1988, and 1990.  She came in second 
  16. four times and in the top five 12 times. The 
  17. WomenΓÇÖs Sports Foundation named her 
  18. Professional Sportswoman of the Year 
  19. in 1987 and 1988.
